I was in my 4th standard when I had prepared really hard for a subject “Hindi Literature” and it only only when I reached school was I told that we actually had an exam of “English Language”. I distinctly remember my mother leaving her daily chores and rushing to school to ensure I was not flustered😅. It is such incidents that actually make you believe that mothers are a boon! But have you ever thought what a mother feels? All part of her motherhood journey. It was this week that I watched this web series on zee5 called Mentalhood that deals with daily patenting issues. Is it worth your time…lets find out.

Mentalhood is a story of 5 mothers and a single father(bordering on the high society) and the different issues that they face while parenting. Comprising of 10 episodes(of almost 25 mins each, yes this can be binge watched!), each episode deals with a new issue. The story was relatable for my mom😊 and I found it quite interesting too. The screenplay is penned such that the drama never gets heavy and bogged down. It is light and breezy and almost like a sit-com. The dialogues are the ones you use in your everyday life. Director Karishma Kohli has done a good job with the drama.

The performances are the actual highlight of the show. Sandhya Mridul as the snobbish Ajo is outstanding. Shilpa Shukla as the petite Namrata is quite good. Shruti Seth as Diksha has her moments. Tillotama Shome looks pretty and is excellent as Preity(with an i😂). Dino Morea is wonderfully restrained. His Pyaar mein Kabhi Kabhi co star, Sanjay Suri is once again in good form. Karisma Kapur in her digital debut shines(though I was hoping for some Kanpuriya accent). All other kids are lovely.

On the whole, Mentalhood is a nice and breezy watch. All young couples and young parents should watch this series. It does provide a few solution to parenthood before you become ‘mental’!

PS :Many webseries reviews coming your way. Stay tuned!
