Jamun
Introduction
If you are reading this, we have finally survived another week. Thank God it is Friday and we have a host of freshly brewed content to consume this weekend, so lets get started. So I have just finished watching, Jamun on Eros Now. These days I seldom watch trailers, I just go into the movie blind just to see where the movie takes me. Is Jamun worth your time, stay tuned.
Story & Screenplay
Jamun is the heart warming father-daughter story wherein the girl is suffering from a squint, and the father is showing early signs of Parkinson’s disease. The story is typically a slice of life film that has all the ingredients to touch your heart. The screenplay is written close to reality. This means that there is no over the top drama, instead the proceedings are real and at times relatable too. While the characters could have slightly been explored more, the writing is heartwarming and is sure to leave a smile on your face while gently tugging the strings of your heart. Thoroughly enjoying!
Dialogues, Music & Direction
The dialogues are the ones we use in our daily lives, no over the top antics here. The music and BGM are alright. Direction Gaurav Mehra has done a wonderful job with this tender tale. This could so easily have been a tear jerker or melodramatic, while the drama is intact, it never reaches a crescendo.
Performances
Chandan Roy as Dinoo and Bijou Thaangjam as Dr Lama Shind in cameos. Sunny Hinduja as Amar is yet again exceptional in a small role. Saurabh Goyal as Dr. Kewal is endearing and charming. Shweta Basu Prasad as Chetna is yet again in outstanding form. She is such a talented actress and it is so heartening to see her in such roles. Raghubir Yadav as Jamun is just flawless. A veteran in his field, he shows exactly why people rate him highly. He is simply outstanding here!
Conclusion
Jamun is a sweet and sour story that will tug the strings of your heart and will leave a smile on your face. Available on Eros Now and Highly Recommended.
