SONU KE TITU KI SWEETY

RATING
3 Star popcorn reviewss

Luv Ranjan, the name is enough to recall movies like Pyaar Ka Punchnama and Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2 which had heavy tones of sexism but were on the whole quite funny and entertaining. Now he seems to have carved a niche for himself. This week’s release, Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety, as unusual as the name sounds, seems to originate from the same genre. Does it find a place amidst Luv’s previous works…lets find out.

SKTKS is the story, rather a war, between bromance and romance. Which one would Titu choose? The concept is a fresh one. The screenplay packed with a few hilarious yet relatable gags holds your attention even though it has its share of flaws. The ending is one to cherish! The dialogues are sharp like in all Luv’s other films. The music is on point and gels well with the mood of the film. Luv Ranjan is fast turning out to be one of the most promising directors in recent times. He sure knows his art and the psychology of boys(pun intended).

The cast is pretty much the same from the previous films. Kartik Aaryan as Sonu has looked good and does a good job. His Titu, Sunny Singh, does a fair job but shines in the climax. His Sweety, Nushrat Bharucha looks charming and is pick of the actors on display. A special mention of the Sanskari Alok Nath in his probably first ‘Unsanskari’ role who is outright hilarious.

On the whole, SKTKS can easily be termed as Pyaar Ka Punchnama 3 and although not as entertaining as the previous too, does manage to evoke laughter. Go take your Sweety for your Sunday morning Matinee show but don’t forget your Sonu too!
