Introduction
Onto the next release of the weekend and I finished watching the new Netflix Special – Ranveer Vs Wild with Bear Grylls. This is just popcorn entertainment at its very best. And so anything which has popcorn in it has us in it as well😅. Now I must admit I may not have gone ahead and watched Ranveer vs Wild had it not been for the powerhouse Ranveer Singh. I had just watched him yesterday in the 7th Season Of Koffee With Karan with Alia Bhatt and the man is a living example of energy. Every time he is onscreen, there is never a dull moment and It is always a lot of fun watching him onscreen. So I decided to put my time to good use and finish off a rather quick Netflix Special which would fill in the space of a second review as well. So then is Ranveer vs Wild streaming on Netflix worth your time, stay tuned.
The Concept
Ranveer vs Wild follows is an interactive Netflix Special where a viewer is given a choice to help Ranveer reach his destination. It is a fun watch where the energy of the protagonist really rubs onto you in certain sequences. There are various obstacles and such is the show that it means for a leisurely yet fun viewing. I liked how the choices tied up at the end(where a wrong choice may well have had to restart the show). So overall, a fun concept made even better by the presence of Ranveer Singh though some of the sequences were quote obviously staged(duh! What did you expect?).
The Interactive Element
The Interactive Element could have been further explored in order to completely immerse the audience. The choices were few and although a couple of them were interesting. However, had there been an abundance of choices(when I say abundance I mean choices at every juncture of the show), the intensity of the audience would have been high throughout(something which Netflix was able to achieve with Black Mirror). But instead here, the show relies heavily on Ranveer Singh whose energy consistently drives the show throughout.
The Journey & The Star Presence :
The journey which the makers decided to follow was pretty interesting with some of the trademark Bear Grylls escapades – like eating maggots or ants to climbing rocks or hanging on a helicopter. Along the way, a nice little addition to the journey was of Ranveer’s friend which added to the fun element of the show. Which brings me to Ranveer Singh. The man is living his dream and how! You can see the passion in him throughout so far so that it more often than not rubs on the viewer as well. So be it his funny banter or his bromance or the final stretch at the end, it did show the passion of his in a dream which he lives every single day!
Conclusion
Ranveer Vs Wild is a show bustling with energy mainly due to its lead which classifies for a leisurely fun watch. Available on Netflix!
