So, at the start of the weekend I had mentioned in my reviews that there are 5 new releases this weekend. And all reviews have been put up for you to enjoy and eventually decide on which film to be watched. However, there is a 6th one too which was lesser known and available on the Shemaroo Me app called My Client’s Wife. Its trailer seemed to be mysterious almost that sucked me into watching it(yes, I wasn’t going to watch it earlier). Is this film worth your time, lets find out.

My Client’s Wife is the story of a lawyer who investigates a case where his client had apparently tried to murder his wife. Nothing is what meets the eye. The story is almost Hitchcockian in nature and utterly engrossing. The screenplay is a slow burn much like the films of Alfred Hitchcock. There is a lot of build up with different versions of the story being presented to confuse the audience until the mind numbing and outstanding finale that will leave you in awe and shock. This is one helluva Hitchcockian twist that is rare, unique and the one that I never in my wildest dreams anticipated. Such a perfect screenplay this! Mind you, the twist is disturbing and the one that will stay with you long after the movie is over! The dialogues are sharp. Director Prabhakar Meena Bhaskar Pant has done a phenomenal job here, keeping all his cards close to his chest and revealing them one by one in this twisted film.

Mazher Sayed in a cameo shines as the cable guy. Abhimanyu Singh as Raghuram Singh is outstanding and just a pleasure to watch. Anjali Patil is an underrated actress and here as Sindoora she excels, a character that has a mystery surrounding it. Sharib Hashmi(we have seen him in Family Man and Asur recently) is the star of the show here. He is such a natural as Maanas and it is his character that will keep you hooked and booked till the end. I really wish to see more of him in the future!

My Client’s Wife with its various twists and turns and a mind boggling final act, is the watch of the weekend for me. You really cannot miss this one. It is taut, dark, twisted and a movie that will stay with you long after it has ended!
