YEH SAALI AASHIQUI

RATING
3.5 Star popcorn reviewss

I am a big-time Bollywood junkie. I have been watching and reviewing almost all Bollywood films. But there are a few(very few) that I happen to miss, some because I just do not want to waste time. And some because of the show timings and also allocation of shows in my area. Yeh Saali Aashiqui was one such film that I wanted to watch especially after watching its thrilling trailer. Well, I missed its theatrical release but luckily for me it is now available on Zee5 Premium and YouTube. And I did watch it….is it worth your time…lets find out.

Yeh Saali Aashiqui is a story of…..well again revealing anything here would spoil your experience. All I can say is the story is indeed thrilling despite its minor flaws. The screenplay is water tight with several twists are turns. However, the ‘mystery’ could have been revealed a little later in the second half, something that slightly dampens the revenge drama. Despite that, the ending does in a way justify it by coming together in a rather good way. The dialogues are average, could have been better. Music is decent. Director Cherag Ruparel has done a good job here.

Ruslaan Mumtaz is quite understated but wish his role had a little more meat. But the film rests on the shoulders of the two debutants and boy do they deliver. Shivalika Oberoi is a fire cracker, outstanding in a character that will keep you guessing in the first hour. Vardhan Puri(the grandson of the great Amrish Puri) has so much of heavy lifting to do. His character has many shades and boy does he deliver. Excellent performance!

Yeh Saali Aashiqui might be a little slow in the second hour but it is well worth your time. For fans of the dark side, this movie will be a treat to watch!
