Josie and the pussycats is a musical-comedy-drama movie based on a music band and what goes behind the world of music! I wouldn’t call this a proper comedy movie because it’s kind off in the dark comedy zone as well.
What’s interesting is that, the movie got mixed reviews when it released but is now known as a cult. It’s a proper popcorn entertainment movie that must be watched in the theater. I stumbled upon this movie just recently and enjoyed it throughout.
The characters in the movie are very well written and the movies production value, script and direction feels fresh even after 20 years. What I like about this movie is that it’s not any other chick flick drama about a teenage band, but rather, it has a meaning and some layered knowledge of the dark music world but shown in a very light hearted way.
This is the kind off movie that should not be judged by the ratings given on the internet. Get some popcorn and some pizza, call your friends and enjoy it over the weekend.
