CRACKDOWN

RATING
4 Star popcorn reviewss

You know what the strange part about this week is? I have almost exhausted and done with all the fresh content that has released. Blame it on the IPL or the long weekend coming up, but there aren’t any new releases pending for this weekend. Closing down the week, I have just finished watching the webseries, Crackdown on Voot. Its trailer promised to be an edge of the seat thriller, does the series set your pulse racing, stay tuned.

Crackdown is the story of an Intel operation of possible attacks across the country, this while the database of all the secret agents being compromised too. The story is again not very novel, we as an audience have seen such stories in the past too. But the screenplay is super thrilling. It is extremely fast paced and allows you very little time to breathe. In fact, it almost keeps you on your toes throughout with many twists and turns, especially the second half of the series which is nail biting stuff. Also, the mystery is fairly good. The dialogues are decent, BGM is good. Director Apoorva Lakhia has done a commendable job here, his direction hits the right notes throughout.

Harry Parmar as Narang has his moment to shine. Tanya Desai as Ananya is good in her small yet important cameo. Palak Jaiswal as Lekha has some good presence onscreen. Saba Saudagar as Fawzia definitely makes her presence felt. Rajesh Tailang as Ashwini the Chief of the agency is superb. Give him any role and he beautifully fits the part! Ankur Bhatia makes a late entry as Tariq and he is good, perhaps his role in season 2 will be a little more pronounced. Waluscha De Sousa as Garima is so talented and a fine actress that I wonder why hasn’t she been getting such roles more often. Iqbal Khan as Zoravar looks smart(very smart actually) and is perhaps the pick of the actors here. Outstanding acting. Shriya Pilgaonkar as Divya nails her role and is quite good in hand to hand combat sequences too. Saqib Saleem as Riyaaz is a revelation here and you can safely put his Race 3 ghost to rest now. He looks like a million bucks and totally is convincing in his part.

Crackdown will definitely set your adrenaline racing. It is a fast paced thriller that comes with my highest recommendation. Available on Voot and Highly Recommended!
