Brooklyn Nine Nine 2013 Crime Comedy Series Review

Brooklyn Nine Nine (Season 1-7)

Introduction

Well there’s lot to say about the show, but keeping it sweet and short, here is the gist to Brooklyn Nine Nine Season 1 to 7. The show includes no. of seasons following with no. of episodes, where each episode is a new case regarding murder, drug smuggling, robbery, etc and so making it a funny investigation. The first season premiered on 17th September 2013. The finale Season will premiere on 12th August 2021 with 10 episodes. The series also claimed many awards like Golden Globe Award, Critic’s Choice Award in different categories. While writing about Brooklyn Nine Nine, am gonna definitely laugh out loud remembering each character and episode.

Story and Screenplay

The 99th precinct of New York City Police Department (NYPD) follows a team of detectives headed by serious, intellectual and vigorous Commanding Officer, Captain Raymond Holt. The best part of the series is how each crime investigation is done in a sarcastic way led by the team’s ace detective, Jake Peralta. His childish way, immature methods and laughter punches is totally eye-grabbing and hence always concluding to his win. The other employees of the 99th precinct include Detective Amy Santiago, Jake’s over achieving and competitive partner; Detective Rosa Diaz, a tough and kept to herself coworker; Detective Charles Boyle, Jake’s possessive best friend ; Detective Sergeant Terry Jeffords, who was recently taken off the field after the birth of his twin girls; Scully and Hitchcock are super seniors who are lazy and chilled out and then there’s Gina Linetti, the precinct’s sarcastic administrator. Together these tightly knit cops solve all the cases. The series also care about the sentiments of human nature and thus in several episodes we can find some moral thoughts and awareness. Ultimately, BROOKLYN NINE-NINE is a workplace comedy that’s not really about the job. It’s about the men and women behind the badge – singing karaoke, grabbing a beer and hitting on each other – all while protecting the fine people of Brooklyn.

Dialogues, music and direction

Superbly drafted script with healthy and comely dialogues. Loved their hip hop music, which will definitely make you move and groove with it. And what to say about the makers and direction, it’s just perfect and appreciating. I personally would applaud for their amazing hard work and execution.

Performances

An astounding cast where Andy Samberg will leave you in “awww” moment every time you watch him. The other cast like Melissa Fumero, Terry Crews, Andre Braugher, Joe Lo Truglio, Stephanie Beatriz, Chelsea Peretti, Dirk Blocker and Joel Mckinnon Miller also gel up with their character so perfectly keeping you completely hooked to the show. It’s hard to find any flaw in their performance and it grows perfect with each passing episode.

Conclusion

Many series in the starting needs some gripping to create your interest, well this one aces here; from the pilot episode to the season’s end, you’ll gonna laugh boisterously. A must must watch series for those who love comedy genre. In person, this is my second favourite after FRIENDS. Everything is just NOICE.
