Janhit Mein Jaari follows the story of a women having accidently found herself a job in a c*ndom manufacturing company, takes it upon herself to spread awareness about it. The story is relevant and certainly well intended. But the screenplay is where the film falters. The drama standing at almost 150 minutes is a tad too much for a subject like this. And what eventually does happen is that it goes around it circles before reaching its predictable finale. The screenplay opens on a very good note with the right dose of humour which pleasantly found me smiling and giggling. The subject which it was trying to tackle is relatively fresh having previously been seen in the Aparshakti Khurana starrer Helmet on Zee5.

As the drama progresses, the humour also keeps getting better. So what is the issue you may ask? It is the cliched writing which just wishes to drill the message home without keeping things subtle. This is a typical Ayushmann Khurana kind of a genre and if you recall his films like Vicky Donor or even Dream Girl, the message was subtle and the focus primarily was on entertaining the audience. But sadly here, the things are reversed. Make no mistake, I am all for the messaging but if the protagonist has to go about literally saying the same things over and over again throughout the film’s duration then it is safe to say that the point is lost in translation. It would make people disinterested which is what happens here!

There are still moments which are interesting but few and far between barren lands of melodrama. The writers had to be cautious of it and had to ensure of steering away from it. The finale act is also weak and the final scene of breaking the fourth wall and again preaching the message just summed up the weak screenplay.
